Fan of the Month

Merry 25th of April!

Only eight months to go. Experts say NOW is the time to start Christmas shopping. I disagree. I say now is the time to tell SANTA what you want for Christmas. You can get your early Christmas list in by leaving a comment on this blog post and I'll make sure Daddy sees it.

And now...

Important News: 9 Months from Now...

Lords-a-leaping, not THAT! Nine months from today it will be CHRISTMAS!!!

Merry 25th of March, everyone!

Here's some more great Christmas news to tide you over while you're waiting.
Earlier this year Universal started working on a CG-animated version the Grinch. This month, Sony began working on a super cool origin story of the SANTA CLAUS!!!

http://www.avclub.com/article/santa-claus-get-his-own-gritty-viking-origin-story-201730

Tinseltown just can't get enough of jolly old St. Nick. Winter's Knight will show how my dad ruled the frozen pagan world of Asgard as the Norse god Odin, then started making toys in exchange for cookies. Don't expect it to be historically accurate. This Viking Santa Claus is based, in part, on The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus (which you can read for free on your Kindle) by L. Frank Baum, author of The Wizard of Oz.

Of course, if you want the TRUE origin story of Mr. Kringle, look no further than North Pole High: Beginnings, my prequel to North Pole High: A Rebel Without a Claus, which tells how my mom and dad met amidst a terrifying zombie elf apocalypse.

Now, to re-gift Stephen Colbert's "Tip of the Hat, Wag of the Finger" concept, I tip my Santa cap to the Park Slope area of Brooklyn for keeping Christmas around well into March. Apparently their discarded Christmas trees haven't been picked up by the city's garbage collectors yet.

http://www.dnainfo.com/new-york/20140306/park-slope/with-easter-weeks-away-christmas-trees-still-litter-park-slope-sidewalks

Unfortunately, I also have to put them on the Naughty List for throwing away their Christmas trees in the first place. Here in the North Pole, we keep our Christmas trees up year-round. Maybe if your halls were still decked in boughs of holly you wouldn't be in such a bah-humbug mood over this. #HoHoHo

Ready for a Spring Christmas treat? How about making very own, super yummy homemade marshmallows?

http://blog.williams-sonoma.com/weekend-project-homemade-marshmallows/

It's a fun weekend project and you can use them for Easter, s'mores, Rice Krispies Treats, and thousands of other things between now and next Christmas. Now that's hot chocolate!

Have a merry Spring and stay on the Nice List!

Ten Months To Go...

Merry 25th of February. Just ten more months till CHRISTMAS!!!

The elves have been pretty busy keeping tabs on who's been Naughty and Nice this year. Bet you didn't know we started keeping track this early? Well, we do. And so far, we've found one very Naughty person who found a very Naughty (and extremely dangerous) way to get rid of his leftover Christmas candy. Santa does NOT approve!

And then there was this guy in Florida who tried to break into a house through the chimney.
Robber gets stuck in chimney. Only Santa Claus could get away with this!

Didn't go too well for him. Here's a little secret: Santa uses MAGIC to get down the chimney!

Blackbirds keep Christmas Spirit alive in Cramlington, Northumberland.
Not all the Christmas news this month was tragic. In England, some quick-thinking blackbirds nested and laid their eggs in a Christmas tree, forcing the town of Cramlington, Northumberland, to keep their Christmas Spirit going a little longer this year. :)

One of the coolest Christmas trees of the year is not still up...
Budapest Christmas tree made of 365 sleds donated to children!
...because it was made of 365 sleds that have been donated to children!

If you get bored waiting for Christmas to return, why not have some fun and make yourself sparkle?

I hope you all had a Merry February and enjoyed that other candy holiday. I know ten months sounds like when you're waiting for something as magical as Christmas, but it will be here soon. I promise.

In the mean time, I leave you with my favorite Christmas ad from last season...

Merry Jannuerrymas!

January 25th - Only 11 more months till Christmas

It's January 25th. One month down, only 11 more to go!

People always ask me what we do when Christmas is over.

Christmas is NEVER over in the North Pole. But we do lay low in the first month after Christmas. Santa goes into hiding to avoid all the complaints from boys and girls who were naughtier than they realized and didn't get everything they wanted for Christmas.

Like the Google+ team, who sent me this mean letter when I created my profile...
Letter showing that Google doesn't believe Santa Claus is real. Boo.
So they're basically saying Google doesn't believe Santa Claus is real, and therefore I am not real. Well! I hope they enjoyed their COAL! Ho Ho Ho!

And speaking of Grinches, look who's coming back....
Universal's Grinch is coming back in 2017 in a CG-animated feature.
Universal Pictures has announced they are releasing a new CG-animated feature version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas! on November 17, 2017. Wait a minute, that's like four years away! I can't wait that long. I'll be like a hundred by then!

I know another classic Christmas book that might make a good movie. In fact, Nick Abdo, the producer of one of my mom's favorite movies, Beaches, gave my book a 5-star review on Amazon last month!

"Cool characters and a story that will appeal to older kids and adults alike," said the Big-Time Hollywood Producer! I'm so flattered. :)
Nick Abdo, producer of BEACHES, gave NORTH POLE HIGH a FIVE-STAR REVIEW!

And here's some more Christmas movie news: A movie called Happy Christmas premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this month. The holiday film stars Lena Dunham of HBO's Girls and Anna Kendrick of Twilight.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS premiered at Sundance this month.
A review in The Guardian said, "Christmas plays little part in the narrative other than as an excuse to bring everyone together," but called it "undeniably charming." I'm just glad to know that some people can still appreciate the undeniable charm of Christmas even in January. :)

Until Christmas, stay on the Nice List. You can do it. It's only eleven months! xoxo

It's Christmas!

Santa leaves the North Pole in his sleigh pulled by flying reindeer to deliver toys on Christmas Eve.

We did it! All our hard work this year has paid off. Daddy and the reindeer have left the North Pole to deliver Christmas cheer to EVERYONE!

Thank you to all the beautiful elves who made this Christmas joyous for millions!

We're partying like mad here at the N.P. And of course we'll be bringing the fun to Twitter for one last #SantaChat Christmas wrap party at 6:00 pm ET on Christmas Day (3:00pm PT, 11:00pm London). Hope you can join us. I can't wait to hear what my dad left under your tree!
